Spring Planting

Well spring planting has arrived.

Just wanted to remind everyone in zone 3a & 3b that you are probably good to go for planting the following vegetables.

These vegetables can be planted 6 weeks before the last frost which in our zone 3 area is suppose to be May 24-26.

  • Onions
  • Peas
  • Potatoes

As long as you can work the ground you should be good to go and if you have raised beds like I have they are well thawed out and all you will have to do is pull back the winter mulch, add you soil amendments and start planting.

I would also have at the ready your cold weather row covers and clotches to protect your seedlings over the coming weeks as winter generally is not done with us till well after the May long weekend.
